David Tann is the award-winning Founder and CEO of Tantrum, an agency built to challenge convention, elevate underrepresented voices, and create brands with lasting cultural relevance.
Before launching Tantrum, David spent his career working with global brands across retail, fashion, and sports. He’s launched branding for Abercrombie & Fitch, led record-breaking holiday campaigns for Bath & Body Works, managed packaging for Kohl’s, revitalized the iconic OshKosh B’gosh brand, directed e-commerce for Carter’s, and unveiled the rebrand of his hometown NBA team, the Atlanta Hawks.
As VP, Creative Director for the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena, David established a unified brand voice across all platforms and played a key role in the team’s award-winning “True to Atlanta” identity—one that still defines the brand today.
Since founding Tantrum, David has been recognized for his creative leadership and business impact. He was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Atlanta Business League in 2023, AMA Atlanta Marketer of the Year in 2021, and one of Simply Buckhead’s Rising Stars in 2020.
In 2024, David made history as the first-ever Designer in Residence at the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA), an ongoing partnership focused on expanding creative access and representation in design. Most recently, he was honored with the Leaders in Corporate Citizenship Award by the Atlanta Business Chronicle, recognizing his continued work at the intersection of branding, community, and culture.
David holds a B.A. in Communication from Wake Forest University and is a graduate of the design program at Miami Ad School at The Portfolio Center, where he also serves as an adjunct professor. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for North Atlanta High School’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program.
